Why Student Fostering Is Essential In Today’s World
Schooling is not just about grades.
One more important concern about schooling is that “Has the student learned?”
Grades don’t only show the raw intelligence of a student. Other factors can also be about their attitude in the class or their attitude towards learning. If we only care about giving knowledge to students, it may not be that effective to everyone. What is more important is that we give learnings to them, that is why student fostering learning is important.

Ways That You Can Foster Student Learning
1. Build a Community
By building a community of learners, the students in the class help each other stand and grow instead of competing with one another. Through this, students will develop cooperation and are more likely to become team players in the future. They’s think not only of the individual success but more importantly of the class as a whole, which promotes a healthy environment.
2. Show Them How Relevant Learning Is
Teach them goal setting and have them write their own goals for the semester, and ways and steps on how to achieve them. In this way, they have something to look forward to at the end of the semester and make them see how training is a big factor towards achieving their goals, rather than just having them follow a syllabus and what you, the instructor, are feeding them.
3. Let the Students Know That You Care About Them
Some students are afraid of making a mistake because they are afraid of getting reprimanded, and would therefore not try new things instead. Show them that you care for them, that you want them to learn and grow, and that you are not just after their high grades. In this ways, they will open up themselves more and would be willing to take risks and learn from them.
4. Incorporate Student Inclusion
Having them participate not only in discussions but in other organizational duties in the class as well such as managing attendances, seeing to it that tables and seats are clean, and other tasks help them in becoming responsible individuals. Giving them doable tasks and making them responsible for keeping them in order is a training of handling and managing responsibilities in their learning community
5. Make Learning Fun
Most especially, students wouldn’t love learning in a stressful environment. One with too much strict and absolute rules, where mistakes are never an option doesn’t help the student in learning. If they see that the environment is fun and engaging, it’s when they’ll love it. When they see authority in you but find that your ways give a fun, entertaining, and engaging atmosphere, that’s when they want to learn with you. Find creative ways to make the process fun for students.
As an educator, foster student learning. Help your students love learning, and make them highly effective people.
