Need some Energy? Look to the Sun
02/13/2007
It is true that the sun is a huge ball of pure hot energy. Indeed it is the source of all the energy.
When February rolls around winter can seem completely void of sun; endlessly dark and perpetually cold. Happily it is also the shortest month of the year and a time when the days are beginning to stretch out longer. Long warm days full of the suns energy are coming indeed.
If your energy is dragging by winters end here are a few tips from Mary McGuire-Wine, the Anerican Yogini. These proven tips are used regularly at the luxurious American Yogini yoga and juice fast retreats and they can bring your energy level back into balance.
Sun Breath – Inhale while raising your arms up to touch over your head, and exhale as they lower back to touch in front of your heart. Let them rise up sideways, drawing an arc around yourself.
As the hands meet in front of heart at the bottom of the exhale and at the top of head at top of the inhale, your energy will rise. Repeat 9 times.
Sun Lamp – switch the bulb in your work area for a full spectrum one available at most hardware store. More intensive sun lamps are available at the Sharper Image. Spending time under the full spectrum of colors that natural sunlight emits can really balance your energy levels.
Sun Walk.- When the sun does shine bright, take a walk on the sunny side of the street and let you face lift up to the sun. Soak in the energy! Breath deep and enjoy every minute of precious sun energy.
Make Room for Sun – Sometimes there's just too much on your mind and it can sap your energy. Download by writing a of stream of consciousness letter. Keep the pen moving for 3 pages without stopping. Even “I don’t know what to write” is ok. After you write it them, shred them and say good by. Surprisingly invigorating!
Drink Sun– Drink green juices or a shot of wheat grass juice. All health food stores have juice bars these days. Green means chlorophyll, and that is like drinking in the sun’s energy
Take the time to indulge in these "off the mat" yoga energy sun tips.. You'll soon bv be energized and ready for a Spring detox.
